Relining
 |
This is a
broken clay tile liner inside a chimney. For what it should look like,
take a look at this photo.

 |
In some situations, the
clay tile liner is replaced with a steel liner. When Boston's Best
checks your chimney, they can advise you with regard to the different
possibilities.
In the photo on the left,
there is also a chimney professional in the basement helping to
guide the liner into position.

 |
Sometimes
two people are required at the top of the chimney to assist in guiding
the liner into position. |
| |
|
 |
Very frequently
a chimney cap, sometimes called a raincap, is attached to the top
of the chimney after the liner is installed. |
| |
|
 |
Now this is really interesting.
What you see in the photo to the left is a rooftop in downtown Boston,
Massachusetts.
The coiled steel tubes
you see are liners. How many can you count? For the full story,
take a look in our archive section.
