Buying a New Home?

Buying a home with a fireplace is completely different than buying a home with a working fireplace.
First time buyers tend to take the sellers word that the fireplaces are functional. While the sellers may think they have working fireplaces because they’ve never had problems, that doesn’t necessarily mean that there aren’t underlying issues and repairs needed for safe burning.  Repairs can be costly, which is why getting a CSIA certified chimney tech over to the home to perform a Level 2 Real Estate inspection prior to the purchase and sale, is always a good idea.
Protect your wallet!  Be sure to have a level 2 inspection before you sign on the line.  Keep in mind if repairs are needed to get the fireplace(s) working you can always use that figure for negotiation and have Boston’s Best Chimney perform the work once you have closed on the home.
